Working with You to Move Pleasant Hill Forward

Public Safety

Pleasant hill is a safe city and keeping it a safe community to live, work and raise a family is a priority for me. A well funded and well trained police force is key to public safety and police visibility contributes significantly to making us feel safe. As a City Councilmember, I will work closely with our police department to make sure we are safe in our homes and on our streets. I will make sure our police department has the resources necessary to provide us the high level of service we expect and need.

Fiscal Responsibility

We work hard and pay our taxes and we want those dollars to be spent by our government agencies as effectively and efficiently as possible. I believe good economic stewardship is not just balancing the books for today, but setting up a solid foundation for the future. In my 10 years as a Board Director for the Pleasant Hill Recreation & Park District,  including four years on the Budget & Finance Committee, we produced fiscally responsible budgets that ensured the agency always maintained a surplus. As a Pleasant Hill City Councilmember, I will bring that experience and philosophy to the many important financial decisions that need to be made.

Housing Opportunities

Pleasant Hill is not exempt from the housing crisis that is adversely affecting the Bay Area and the state. With a lack of housing inventory, home prices have exploded, leaving many hard-working people unable to buy in Pleasant Hill, put down roots and enjoy what our community and region have to offer.

I believe our teachers, first responders and people of all ages, races and gender identification should have the opportunity to live in this community. I will always listen to all sides to ensure that we retain control of our housing decisions.

Business Opportunities

Pleasant Hill business is not just what’s happening in our downtown. Sure, we all want fun places to eat and shop on Crescent Drive, but opportunities should abound from Oak Park Blvd. to Chilpancingo Parkway. I will work with our Chamber of Commerce, Stay Pleasant Hill organization and economic development staff to help create and promote opportunities for new businesses to emerge and current businesses to want to stay in Pleasant Hill and be a part of our community fabric.
